A Complete Nepal Journey: From Damak to Mustang
A visual diary of 8 destinations across Nepal — from the Terai plains to the Himalayas.

After 5 years, I finally witnessed the Himalayas with my own eyes — a journey through landscapes, culture, and breathtaking silence.
The gateway to the journey, a blend of culture and warmth. Started with a day in Damak with my parents, a vibrant town in eastern Nepal. The bustling markets, friendly faces, and the aroma of local cuisine set the tone for the adventure ahead.

First stop of the journey, the adventure begins.

Wildlife, jungle, and raw nature. Spent 2 unforgettable days in Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From thrilling jeep safaris to serene canoe rides, I was immersed in the heart of the jungle. The highlight was spotting a one-horned rhinoceros and a majestic Bengal tiger, moments that will forever be etched in my memory.

A spiritual journey with cable car views. Manakamana Temple, dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati, is perched atop a hill and offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. The cable car ride to the temple is an experience in itself, providing breathtaking vistas and a sense of anticipation as you ascend.

Lakes, reflections, and mountains. Pokhara, with its serene Phewa Lake and stunning views of the Annapurna range, offered a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. Boating on the lake, exploring caves, and witnessing the sunrise over the mountains were unforgettable experiences.

Peaceful Himalayan village life. Ghandruk, a charming village in the Annapurna region, was a highlight of the trip. The traditional stone houses, terraced fields, and warm hospitality of the Gurung people made it a memorable stop. The views of the Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks from Ghandruk were simply breathtaking.

A majestic waterfall nestled in the Himalayas, offering a serene escape from the bustling villages.

The spiritual climax of the journey, nestled in the Mustang region. Muktinath is a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists, known for its 108 water spouts and eternal flame. The surreal landscape, with the arid mountains contrasting against the vibrant prayer flags, left an indelible mark on my soul. It was a humbling end to an unforgettable journey.

“The mountains are calling,
and I must go.”
